A Yale grad student vanished just days before she was supposed to get married, leaving cops to determine if she's a runaway bride - or the victim of a crime.

Annie Marie Le, 24, has not been seen or heard from since Tuesday, the Yale Police Department confirmed Thursday. She left behind a purse with her cell phone, credit cards and money.

"The biggest thing we're worried about right now is, 'Is she okay?" Robert Alpern, dean of the School of Medicine, told FOX News in New Haven, Conn.

The FBI and Connecticut State Police have also joined the search for Le, who is engaged to Jonathan Widawsky, a graduate student at Columbia University.

They are supposed to get married in New York on Sunday, according to their wedding web site.

Le, who is from Placerville, Calif., is working on a doctorate in pharmacology at Yale's School of Medicine.

Le, who got her undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester in 2007, was conducting an experiment at a Yale lab when she disappeared, police said.

The grad student used her Yale ID card to check into the facility at 10 a.m.

Cops are checking the lab's video camera footage to see if Le left when the building was evacuated at 1 p.m. after someone pulled a fire alarm.

"We have been looking now at all the tapes of every exit and entrance over the entire 24 hours, just to see if there's any information we can give to law enforcement agencies," Yale University veep Linda Lorimer told FOX.

Le's roommate in New Haven reported her missing when she didn't come home Tuesday, police said.

Debbie Apuzzo, who works in the pharmacology department, told the Associated Press that Le was excited about getting married and described her as energetic and conscientious.

Police said Le is of Asian decent and has brown hair and brown eyes. She is 4-foot-11 and weighs only 90 pounds.
