Michael Strahan Stars in New Sitcom, Plans Wedding to Nicole Murphy

Posted on 4:03 AM by Health&Beauty

Former New York Giants player Michael Strahan returns to the small screen next week, but this time, he’s not in uniform. Strahan has a starring role in Brothers, a new sitcom on Fox, where he plays a washed-up former football star who moves back in with his parents and his wheelchair-bound brother.

“Memorizing a playbook is like memorizing a script,” Strahan recently told the Star-Ledger of his career transition. “When they change the script at the last minute it’s like changing a play in a game.”

The television business is not the only new page in Strahan’s playbook. The athlete is currently engaged to Nicole Murphy, ex-wife of comedian Eddie Murphy. The couple reportedly haven’t set a wedding date yet, though they were engaged in the Bahamas in June.

“I have a great relationship and she’s a great girl,” Strahan told People.com. “I don’t like to talk much about my private life, but I’m really happy.”

The blushing bride-to-be shares his sentiment.

“When I got divorced, I said never again,” Murphy told People in 2008. “Michael and I talk about everything. And we both love to travel, explore and laugh.”

At their profile level, this couple is sure to look good at the center of a top-notch ceremony. However, plastic surgery may well come into play before their wedding day.

A recent segment on Plastic Surgery News highlighted the fact that more and more brides and grooms-to-be to go under the knife in hopes of looking “perfect” in wedding photos and honeymoon snaps. In fact, this trend has widened to include the couple’s family members.

Wedding day patients commonly undergo Botox injections, face lifts, eyelid surgeries, liposuction, tummy tucks and body lifts. Many brides-to-be also opt for a breast augmentation, and both genders look to gain great skin through laser resurfacing. Because a cosmetic surgery patient needs recovery time, doctors advise those planning their nuptials to have their procedure done months prior to the big day.

Will either Murphy and Strahan choose to get a nip or tuck before they walk down the aisle? Hard to say. In any event, they seem truly happy together.
