Michael Jackson Glove Sells For £29,900
Posted on 1:10 AM by Health&Beauty
A crystal-encrusted white glove Michael Jackson once threw to an Australian fan has sold for just under £30,000 at an auction in Melbourne
The showpiece was bought by the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas which beat five other bidders for the singer's glove, paying 57,600 Australian dollars (£29,900).
Auctioneers estimated it would sell for only 30,000 Australian dollars - around half the final sale figure.
Jackson, who was laid to rest last week, was in Australia in 1996 as part of his HIStory world tour.
The King Of Pop tossed the showpiece at an audience member after the Sydney premiere of film Ghosts, in which he had a starring role.
It was caught by Jackson fan Bill Hibble, who has since died, but his mother put the glove up for auction.
National head of collectables at Bonhams and Goodman, Giles Moon, said the glove had "found a very good home."
It is due to go on display in December.
